2023 Toyota GR86 Price And Specifications

2023 Toyota GR86 Price And Specifications.

The starting price of the new 2023 Toyota GR86, which will go on sale this month, will be $11,000 more than the model it replaces and $3000 more than the base version of its Subaru BRZ twin.

Both the manual and automatic variants of Toyota’s new sports car, the GR86, will start at a price of $43,240 including on-road expenses, an increase of $11,060 for the manual and $8760 for the automatic over the outgoing 86.

High-end GTS variants cost $45,390 plus on-road fees for both transmission types, an increase of $8,010 and $5710 over the previous model for the manual and automatic transmissions, respectively.

The base GR86 costs $2950 more than the base version of its Subaru BRZ twin due to the higher prices, even though it has less equipment and does not include 18-inch wheels, Michelin performance tires, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic warning, and other features.

In contrast, the GR86 GTS manual costs $3800 more than the BRZ S manual of equal value. The $45,390 RRP of the top-tier GR86 GTS automatic is comparable to the BRZ S auto.

At the end of the previous generation model’s run, the base Toyota 86 was usually priced approximately $5000 less than the least expensive Subaru BRZ. It also had less features.

The GT automatic is the only GR86 model that costs less than a BRZ ($43,240 vs. $44,090), although it isn’t as well-equipped. Metallic paint is reportedly $575 more expensive in Toyota than it is in Subaru, where it is part of the base price.

An entry-level 86 priced $29,990 at debut in 2013, even though it had a smaller engine and fewer features.

Some More Toyota GR86 Specifications

Similar to the Subaru, the Toyota GR86’s manual versions lack important cutting-edge safety systems like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking, which are all available on automatic models.

Toyota’s manual and automatic versions cost the same, in contrast to the Subaru, which charges $3800 less for the manual model to cover the reduced safety features and more expensive automatic gearbox.

In Australia, starting in March 2023, all newly launched passenger vehicles must include autonomous emergency braking. Due to the GR86’s debut this month, it will arrive within six months.

Although the price of a new GR86 is higher than it was previously, purchasers get more car for their money than owners of an older 86 thanks to an improved suite of cabin electronics and higher outputs from the naturally aspirated engine.

The new GR86, which adds the GR prefix to a vehicle that revived Toyota’s performance-car image a decade ago, is said to uphold the original’s essence with a low-slung aerodynamic design, an easy-to-maintain power plant, and a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

A naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with outputs of 174kW/250 Nm is shared by both GT and GTS variants.

No matter which model grade they choose, buyers will have a choice between a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota will release a 10th Anniversary Edition of the GR86 later this year to recognise the ten years since the launch of the original Toyota 86 on the local market. These unique vehicles stand out thanks to their orange paint, interiors that are black and orange, and special 10th Anniversary badging.

The 10th Anniversary Edition’s price will be made public closer to the variant’s debut at the beginning of 2023.

Today, the 2023 Toyota GR86 should arrive in Australian showrooms.
